Page view energy is estimated using the Sustainable Web Design (SWD) v4 model, which accounts for data centres, networks, and user devices.

AI energy is estimated from published per-token research (Epoch AI 2025, IEA). Carbon emissions are calculated using grid carbon intensity for the server location.

These are estimates, not precise measurements. We use conservative figures and err on the side of underestimation.
