After years of development inside the Bang Creations design studio, we’re thrilled to announce the official launch of the Design Compass — now available as an online interactive tool for innovators, creators, and product teams. Developed in collaboration with Falmouth University and University of Chester, the Design Compass has evolved from an internal working model into a public-facing resource designed to support better, more responsible product development. This marks phase one of the launch. Looking ahead, we’re excited to roll out the next stage — which will include AI-powered assistance to guide users through the key stages of the design process, providing insight and direction as they respond to carefully structured prompts.
What is the Design Compass?
The Design Compass is a strategic tool that helps users navigate the complexities of product design and innovation. It offers a structured, question-led journey through the critical stages of the design process — from problem definition to impact evaluation — helping ensure that products are both purposeful and sustainable.
Who’s It For?
The tool is built for anyone involved in creating or developing products — whether you’re an investor, entrepreneur, startup founder, or part of an SME or large design team. It’s also a powerful learning resource for students and newcomers to design thinking.
Why We Created It
As a B Corp, our mission at Bang Creations is to develop products that positively impact people and protect the planet. The Design Compass is an extension of that philosophy — created to empower others with the tools, frameworks, and mindset needed to make meaningful, well-informed design decisions.
We believe better tools lead to better products — and better products create a better world.
We’d love to hear what you think.
Try the Design Compass now, and please share your feedback as we continue to improve and evolve the tool.
